Today I was pondering the wonder of who Jesus Christ is, the gift of life through Him, by the Spirit, and how complete was all that He accomplished on the cross. How sad it is, then, that so many who are called Christians, who love and believe in Him, actually do NOT believe that He IS the Saviour of ALL men...Saviour of the world. Yes, such will say that He is that, BUT only if man "accepts" salvation. If he chooses otherwise, then, alas, poor God, is helpless and can do nothing. Forgotten is what scripture tells us, that it is GOD who does the choosing, not man...and He shall not fail . PTL, He IS the Saviour of all, in His time and in His way, and our loving Father will have HIS way with His creation. Eph 1:10 reminds us that God is working ALL according to HIS full counsel and will. Amen.

Joanne,
I have a brother who is struggling deeply with life. And I mean "life" in every sense of the word. I mean that he struggles with his life, with its pain and disappointment and memories that stick like thorns in his brain, and with the desire to come through as a man for his wife and children. But I also mean "life" in the sense of the fullness of passion and presence and salvation won and brought by Jesus. The struggle he has with this life of Jesus is that he has not yet accepted it because he does not yet believe it is available to him. He has not yet been given (or willing yet to walk into) the understanding and awareness that there is more available to him - more life, more identity, more intimacy, more being - and because of this he has not yet opened the door to the One-Who-Came-To-Give-It. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, but my brother is defeaned to hear it yet.
